Dancing Birds
Originally a piece of hotel art from the 1980s, three birds of paradise in mauve (you remember the color), I was at a friend's July 4th party and they offered up their canvas for a makeover. So sitting on the grass, drinking cocktails, in a setting that could only be called a tropical paradise, I painted over it. There were no birds of paradise in their yard, so I pulled from my imagination. Dancing Birds is one of my all-time favorites. (Kailua, Oahu, Hawaii)
